Boptown U.S.A. is a mashup album for celebrating and reflecting on the pop landscape of the late aughts and early 2010s.

This period was impressively homogeneous in its sound, with pretty much every hit being some kind of danceable electropop. I like to date the Boptown era as unofficially starting in 2008 with Lady Gaga's Poker Face and winding down around 2013-2014.

With the advent of streaming services and microgenres, the early 2010s represent the last time the Hot 100 had a somewhat unified sound to it. Not that that's a good thing, but nowadays it helps with crystallizing nostalgia for that time.

But most of all, I wanted to smash together some bangers and create equally catchy songs. I hope you like em!
